Duration: close to 3 weeks
The primary objective of this project was to rebuild the website on a new server from scratch due to a severe hacking incident that resulted in the deletion of the previous website and server. With only relics such as full-page screenshots and copies of the previous website content available, the task was to create a new, secure website that would uphold the integrity of the organization’s online presence.
Using WordPress, Elementor, and an Astra Theme, the aim was to create a robust website. This website would retain the previous color palette while enhancing user experience (UX) design for improved user-friendliness. Additionally, it would incorporate advanced security measures, with regular updates to safeguard the platform against potential threats.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
In September 2021, a conversation with a friend revealed a challenge—his newly established company lacked a website. Faced with the perceived high cost of web development, I recognized an opportunity to apply for a career shift. After learning about his hesitation to invest €3000 in a website, I decided to take action.
The next day, I offered to build a website for his company at no cost. To equip myself for this task, I enrolled in a two-month web development course, mastering tools like Elementor and gaining insights into SEO and UX design along the way. Seeking additional insights, I participated in a web development course by Turunduslabor, a prominent marketing company in Estonia.
The project kicked off with the initial development phase lasting from September 2021 to May 2022.
Adapting to Market Demands
Initial positive feedback after the website launch highlighted a crucial need—the desire for content in Estonian. Responding to this market demand, I translated the website into Estonian, seamlessly integrating the Polylang plugin on the WordPress platform.
Continuous Refinement
Post-translation, the website underwent ongoing refinements from June 2022 to January 2023. Recognizing the importance of user experience, the company owner initiated UX research for new website copy. I contributed here by transcribing interview responses during this phase.
As the company evolved, so did the website, with ongoing maintenance, SEO keyword research, and additional translations from February 2023 to December 2023.

Though venturing briefly into social media management for other companies as well, my true passion remained with web development. This experience reinforced the importance of focusing on what resonates most with my skills and aspirations.
Personal Philosophy
This collaboration not only resulted in a functional website but also made me take more risks in pursuit of milestones and find solutions along the way. From there on, I have become an avid proponent of adaptability and continuous learning, as I know that skills are learnable and that mindset can be structured by the things that we are seeking.

Quite possibly the simplest website project I’ve undertaken.
Navigating through this project was exceptionally smooth, thanks to our established partnership from prior collaborations which made communication of expectations very easy.
My primary goal was to elevate the user experience and enhance the overall aesthetic of the website using available tools.
The client’s main focus was to have a functional online presence with minimal complexity.
Provided with the content from an earlier version of the website, I incorporated images and website copy into the new layout design.
Simplicity was the guiding principle of this website.
